Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
Your use of the Community Events platform ("Platform") signifies that you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization (e.g. registering attendees for a community group), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
2. Platform Overview
Community Events is a platform that allows event organizers to list and manage local events. As a user, you can browse public events and register attendees (such as yourself or family members) for those events. Payment and communication are handled through the Platform.
You may only register attendees for events you have permission to register for. In most cases, this means registering yourself or individuals you have a relationship with (such as family members).
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Use of the Platform
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Register attendees for events using false or misleading information.
- Use the Platform to send unsolicited or unauthorized messages.
- Attempt to interfere with the normal functioning of the site or access data you are not authorized to access.
- Violate any applicable local, provincial/state, or international laws.
5. Payments
Payments are processed securely through third-party providers (e.g., Square). Community Events does not store any payment information directly on its servers.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
Refund policies are determined by each event organizer. Please review the event details provided by the organizer for specific cancellation and refund information.
7. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Platform. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable laws, or if your use of the Platform poses a risk to other users or to our services.
9. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
